POPIA Compliance (South Africa)

KalahariCoding (Pty) Ltd complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa. We process personal information lawfully, fairly, and transparently and only for the purposes described in this policy. Under POPIA you have the right to:

Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary personal information

Operational POPIA Notes

Consent recording: We record the user's acceptance of the privacy policy and membership agreement (including terms version and timestamp) and store a consent event under userConsents/{userId}/events in Firestore. This record helps demonstrate lawful processing for the purposes of POPIA.

Data subject requests: To request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, contact info@kalaharicoding.co.za. We will respond in a timely manner and follow our internal procedures to validate and action legitimate requests.

Takedown & disputes: If a complaint is made about information published in a user's profile (for example, incorrect contact details or unlawful content), we will:

Acknowledge receipt of the complaint and log a ticket;
Notify the affected user and request a response;
Temporarily disable public access to the disputed content if legally required or where immediate mitigation is appropriate; and
Resolve the issue and restore or permanently remove the content depending on the outcome.

International transfers: If we transfer personal data outside South Africa, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, as required by POPIA.
